What is a jelly crimp connector?
A jelly crimp connector is a gel-filled IDC (insulation displacement contact) splice connector. The IDC blade pierces the wire insulation to contact the conductor, and the gel fill protects the joint against moisture. Color indicates function.
- Yellow — UY / UY2: 2-wire inline splice.
- Red — UR / UR2: 2-wire or 3-wire repair and tap (dual IDC).
- Blue — UB2A: bridge tap (T-bridge; taps onto a through-wire without cutting it).
- Green — UG: butt + tap splice; taps an existing through-conductor without interrupting service.

Mintel manufactures and ships this range directly, not through intermediaries. The full UY, UY2, UR, UR2, UB2A and UG range remains in production; UY2D is available by order. Qualified trial orders are usually reviewed with neutral packaging, and international air freight is normally at the buyer's cost. OEM, private-label and neutral or custom packaging remain subject to qualification.
